"This piece at face value is really just a beloved cartoon character from our childhood, wearing a face mask, but to me, it's a bit more than that. During this pandemic, I've been binge watching a few of my favorite cartoons as a kid as a sort of coping mechanism because it evoked some kind of nostalgia for a time I overlooked. There's just something lovely about seeing your childhood heroes go through these situations with you since they've been with you since day one and it, in a way, reminds you that you aren't alone. I hope someone out there could feel that too"

"I wanted to focus on how our communication has changed during the time of pandemic. What I wanted to show is that while many people feel isolated due to being separated from their peers and their friends. I wanted my artwork to give a vibe of lack of isolation. Yes we are alone, but that doesn't mean that we need to feel isolated"

"Since the pandemic started, I've always thought about what plague doctors of our time would look like. Would they still have those crow masks with their creepy appearances? Drawing inspiration from post apocalyptic films and artworks, I think this is what they would've looked like"

"Oftentimes, we neglect the meaning of reaching out to our loved ones. We sometimes see connecting as a chore or just another thing we "have to do with our families and our friends." We fear the idea of getting on the phone with our relatives, particularly when the conversation drag on and take us away from the other things we intend to do. Yet these little moments will be the ones we cherish years down the road when these members of the family are no longer with us. During these times, we should be checking up on them once in a while. Although it is required for us to remain separated from the rest of our extended families families, remember, being alone does not mean being lonely"
